2024 Autumn at Elements

“Let the beauty of the sunrise keep your heart warm.”
Lailah Gifty Akita

Apr – June: A RAAD® introduction, Queenstown and the Takapuna Beach Cafe

RAAD®

Thank you to the family-run business of Matt, Bec, Zoe, and Issy for the aesthetically beautiful and addictively fragranced RAAD products. We thought ‘addictively fragranced’ sounded like marketing talk … until we tried the hand wash. You have achieved what you set out to do, making life simpler, kinder, more creative and filled with joyful moments. As with all our suppliers at Elements, RAAD® was carefully selected to ensure sustainability and katiakitanga (guardianship of the sky, sea and land) was incorporated into the product. All RAAD® decisions are filtered through an impact register to ensure they always craft for the users, the makers, the planet today, the planet tomorrow.

Queenstown

A short trip to Queenstown reminded us of how easy it is to get from the beach to the snow in New Zealand. From Elements we had a 35 minute drive to Auckland Airport, a 2 hour flight to Queenstown.

A 13 min drive later we were at FergBaker scoping out one of their famous Boston cream donuts. We skied Remarkables and Cadrona, cycled 40km along the stunning Lake Dunstan Trail and the children enjoyed some ice skating while we sipped our drinks fireside at the fabulous new Ayrburn.

Restaurant Recommendation – Takapuna Beach Cafe

A local’s favourite, a 3km walk from Elements along the beach and rocks we revisited an old favourite that never fails to disappoint. Takapuna Beach Cafe offers views of the beach from a sun-drenched deck and light-filled dining room. The food is fresh, light and reflects the seasons.

To close, our favourite sunrise/sunset photo from autumn of the bay.
